Classical North India Tour

(17 Days) Delhi – Udaipur – Jaipur – Ranthambhore - Agra – Khajuraho – Varanasi - Delhi

 
Day 01 :-  

Arrive Delhi
Arrive in Delhi, the capital city of India. After completing formalities with customs and immigration, you will be received by our representative with Traditional Indian Welcome (with garlands).

Delhi is the capital of India since old times. Delhi's history dates back to the first millenium BC, when it was known as Indraprastha. The Tomar Rajputs built Lal Kot, the core of the first of Delhi's seven cities. It is the epicenter of the nation's politics, economy and culture. History is alive and throbbing in Delhi, the capital of India.

Afterwards transfer to your hotel for the overnight stay.

 
Day 02 :-  

In Delhi
After breakfast embark on sightseeing trip of Delhi City which would include the visit to Old Delhi and New Delhi

Old Delhi : An ancient walled city. Here you would see the Red Fort, the most opulent Fort and Palace of the Mughal Empire, Rajghat the Samadhi of our Father of Nation, Jama Masjid the largest mosque in India and Chandni Chowk the bustling and colourful market of the old city.

New Delhi : The city designed and built by the British in the 1920’s- a city of wide boulevards impressive Government Buildings, green parks and gardens. First you will visit the two monuments from the Delhi’s past Humayun’s Tomb and Qutab Minar. Then your drive takes you along the ceremonial avenue, Rajpath, past the Imposing India Gate and Parliament House.

After completing the sightseeing return back to the Hotel.

Overnight at the hotel.

 
Day 03 :-  

In Delhi
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning start the sightseeing of New Delhi.

New Delhi : The city designed and built by the British in the 1920’s- a city of wide boulevards impressive Government Buildings, green parks and gardens. First you will visit the two monuments from the Delhi’s past Humayun’s Tomb and Qutab Minar. Then your drive takes you along the ceremonial avenue, Rajpath, past the Imposing India Gate and Parliament House.

Evening : Visit the Old Fort for the exciting and charming Sound and Light Show.

After completing the sightseeing return back to the Hotel for Overnight.

 
Day 04 :-  

Delhi- Udaipur
This morning proceed to Delhi’s domestic airport to connect the flight for Udaipur. On your arrival in Udaipur you are received and transferred to the Hotel.

Udaipur is also known as the Jewel of Mewar. This place was founded by Maharajah Jai Singh in 16th century. In spite of being surrounded by the desert its is situated in the lap of the Aravalli hills. It is considered to be one of the most romantic places of India. Elegant palaces, temples and havelis flank the shores of lake. In the centre of the lake there is Jagmandir Island where Lake palace hotel located .It looks like the dream in white.

On arrival check in to the hotel.

Afternoon : Embark upon the sightseeing of Udaipur City

Udaipur City : Visit the city Palace- Museum- grandeur and intricacy stroked all over in granite, marble and mosaic displayed in the sparkling white filigreed balconies and windows ,ornate arches and cupolas atop magnificent octagonal towers,

Jagdish Temple : built in 1651 AD, also visit the Sahelion Ki Bari- the spectacular garden displaying the unique life styles of royal ladies who once lived in the palaces.
Return back to the hotel after the sightseeing. Afternoon free at leisure .
In the evening enjoy a most memorable boat ride with the reflections of the majestic Lake Palace Hotel at its best in the setting sun. After the memorable boat ride return back to the hotel for overnight.

 
Day 05 :-  

In Udaipur
Enjoy buffet breakfast at the hotel. After the breakfast drive for the full day excursion of Chittorgarh :

Chittorgarh : The home of the brave,115 Kms east of Udaipur . The road to the citadel of Chittor zig zag steeply for a couple of Kms and passes through seven huge gates, each with watch towers and great iron spiked doors. The Tower of victory is over 35 meters high and has nine storeys served by a winding staircase. It is covered from top to bottom with carvings, depicting the social life of the time. After completing the sightseeing of Chittorgarh return back to Udaipur.

Overnight will be Udaipur.

 
Day 06 :-  

Udaipur – Jaipur  ( Flight)
After breakfast you are transferred to Udaipur airport to connect your flight. On arrival in Jaipur you are received at the airport and are transferred to the hotel.

Jaipur, capital of Rajasthan, also known as 'Pink City' is surrounded by an ancient 20ft high wall and eight gates. Situated at a distance of 280 km away from Delhi, today, Jaipur is the personification of the old order influence the new. An inherent interest for colour and design penetrated over stratum of society, and jewelry, crafts and architecture became objects of fascination equally between prince and peasant. Jaipur is also the main tourist hub of Rajasthan tourist circuit. From here you can reach out to places like Jodhpur, Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Udaipur, Pushkar, and many more such destinations from Jaipur. Jaipur is also the third corner of the famed Golden Triangle tourist circuit of India along with Delhi and Agra.

On arrival in Jaipur you check in to the hotel.

Evening : Enjoy the Auto Rickshaw ride in the old City of Jaipur and explore the Local Bazar on your own.

Jauhari Bazar: This is where you can buy jewellery and tie and dye sarees. Two lanes joining the mainroad Gopalji ka Rasta and Haldion ka Rasta house numerous establishment selling jewellery. On the main road itself you find many silversmiths. Traditional tie and dye fabrics and textiles are also available here.

Bapu Bazar and Nehur Bazar: Here you can purchase textiles, local perfumes and shoes made of camel skin. Mirza Ismial road.

M.I. Road: The broad thoroughfare houses a lrage number of emporia selling a variety of goods ranging fromjewellery and brass work to textiles, to blue pottery, to woodwork, etc. These shops stock a large variety of goods to satisfy the tourists' needs.

Tripolia Bazar and Chaura Rasta: You can shop here for textiles, utensils, ironware and trinkets. If you want to see the artisans at work, step into the side lanes and see for yourself.

Return to the hotel after the visit.

Day 07 :-  

In Jaipur
Breakfast at hotel. After breakfast start the sightseeing of Amber Fort followed by city tour

Amer Fort : 11 Kms from Jaipur- A marvelous example of Rajput architecture with its terraces and reflected in Matao lake below. The magnificent old Citadel, a labyrinth of massive walls and towers, shrouds an exquisite marble palace, pillared and carved glimmering with a million tiny mirrors, which creates tanatalising reflection effect. The ascent to the fort is on a gaily caparisoned elephants.
Afternoon sightseeing of Jaipur City visit the

City Palace Museum : An imposing blend of traditional Rajasthani and Mughal Art. The museum is resplendent with its collection of robes of royal princess, carpets an armoury of old weapons , miniature paintings portraying court scenes , battle scenes and processions.

Janatar Mantar : (Observartory): Jantar Mantar, built between 1728 and 1734, literally means the ‘instruments for measuring the harmony of the heavens’. Jai Singh, the brain behind the grand project, chose stone with marble facing. This was the biggest of all his observatories and the only one built of stone. He used it daily, often with his astronomy gurus Pandit Jagannath and Kewal Ram. In all there are 17 instruments in the Jantar Mantar complex. The function of each instrument is rather complex but serves a particular function where time plays the main theme.

Hawa Mahal : (Palace of Winds) : A five storeyed wonder with a spectacular pyra midal façade and overhanging windows with latticed screens, domes and spires.
After completing the sightseeing return back to the hotel for overnight.

 
Day 08 :-  

Jaipur - Ranthambhore By Road (Approx 145 Kms / 03 Hours)
After breakfast drive to Ranthambhore
Ranthambhore : Is positioned at the convergence of the Vindhyan plateau and Aravali hill, in the Eastern region of Rajasthan.Two rivers, namely Banas in the North and Chambal in the South, flow through this national park. You can also find six artificial lakes and quite a few perennial streams passing through the park.In the year of 1955, this Park got declared as a game sanctuary. However, its status of a National Park came in the year of 1980. The year 1972 marks the commencement of Project Tiger. It was at this point of time when this park was conferred the status of a tiger reserve in the country. Park is spread on an area of 1,334 sq kms together with its neighboring sanctuaries.

On arrival check in to the hotel. Rest of the evening free at leisure.

Day 09 :-  

In Ranthambore
Early morning enjoy the Jungle Safari in a Jeep or a canter. Return to the hotel for breakfast. Afterwards free till evening at leisure or for own activities.
Evening : Take the trip to the jungle again in a jeep or a canter for the game viewing.

Overnight will be at the resort.

 
Day 10 :-  

Ranthambore – Agra By Road (Approx 265 Kms /05 Hours)
After breakfast embark on the sightseeing trip of the city.
Udaipur City : Visit the city Palace- Museum- grandeur and intricacy stroked all over in granite, marble and mosaic displayed in the sparkling white filigreed balconies and windows ,ornate arches and cupolas atop magnificent octagonal towers,

Jagdish Temple : built in 1651 AD, also visit the Sahelion Ki Bari- the spectacular garden displaying the unique life styles of royal ladies who once lived in the palaces.
Afternoon drive to Nimaj. Upon arrival in Nimaj, check-in at hotel.
On arrival start the sightseeing of the city visit Jagram Durg, situated in Nimaj village of Pali district in Rajasthan. Built in 1773 by Thakur Jagram Singhji, the fort has witnessed many battles in the past. Care has been taken to retain the original character of the place, though all modern amenities have been added to it.
Stay overnight at the hotel.

 
Day 11 :-  

In Agra
Enjoy your buffet breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast you start the sightseeing trip to Taj Mahal and Agra Fort.

Taj Mahal : The 17th Century master piece named Taj Mahal ,which of course is the most splendid of all the buildings – perhaps the most perfect architectural monument of the world. It was built in the memory of the beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal by one of greatest king of Mughal Empire Shah Jehan.

Agra Fort: Built primarily as a military establishment by Emperor Akbar in 1565,the redstone Agra Fort, was partially converted in to a palace during the tenure of Emperor Shah Jehan. Though the principal structure was built by Akbar, many more additions were made by his grandsons. This massive fort is 2.5 Kms long and is considered the predecessor of the Red Fort of New Delhi.

After completing the sightseeing of the monuments you return back to the hotel.

Rest of the day free at leisure. Overnight at hotel.

 
Day 12 :-  

Nimaj – Jaipur By Road (Approx 150 Kms / 04 Hours)
Today you take Shatabdi Express train to Jhansi. On arrival at Jhansi Railway station you are received and you drive to Khajuraho via orcha which is located at a distance of 19 Kms from Jhansi.

Orcha : It has a medieval town atmosphere attached to it. The Betwa River quietly flows by the town. The 16th century palaces & temples built by its Bundela rulers appear to be suspended in time. You will visit

Orchha Fort complex. Within the Fort complex you visit Jahangir Mahal, built by Raja Bir Singh Ju Deo in the 17th century to commemorate the visit of Emperor Jehangir to Orchha.

Raj Mahal, built in the 17th century by Madhukar Shah, the deeply religious predecessor of Bir Singh Ju Deo. Also visit

Ram Raja temple, palace-turned-temple with soaring spires & palatial architecture. Built by the King Madhukar Shah it is one of the most unusual temples in India & the only place where Lord Rama is worshipped as a King not as a deity.

Later continue drive to Khajuraho, built between 950-1050 AD by the mighty warrior kings of the Chandela dynasty, a truly inspired burst of creativity. Contain stunningly explicit erotic sculptures. They were rediscovered in the 20th century, and are now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

On arrival in Khajuraho check in to the hotel. Rest of the evening free at leisure.

Day 13 :-  

In Khajuraho
Enjoy your buffet breakfast at the hotel. After the breakfast you start the sightseeing of Khajuraho Temples.
Today visit
Khajuraho temples, famous for the magnificent carvings depicting numerous exotic postures of the famous Kamasutra, ancient Indian work on sex. Only 22 temples survive of the 85 originally built. In fact, worship is still done today in the Matangeshwara temple, continuing an unbroken 1000 year tradition.
After completing the sightseeing of the city, return back to the hotel.

Rest of the day free at leisure. Overnight at hotel.

 
Day 14 :-  

Khajuraho – Varanasi (Flight)
Enjoy your breakfast at hotel. After breakfast you are transferred to the airport to connect the flight for Varanasi. On arrival in Varanasi received at the airport and transferred to the hotel.

Varanasi, picturesquely situated on the banks of holy river Ganga. The city is the Oldest Living City of the World & traces of its existence are found around 10000 BC. Other than being a very holy city for Hindus, it also holds a very significant association with Buddha's life & Buddhism.

Upon arrival check in to the hotel.

Leave for a special evening cruise on the Ganges on candle lite country boats to the accompaniment of musicians. See the Hindu devotees performing the "Puja" with lighted lamps. The view is very mesmerizing and the ambience is spectacular.
Later return to the hotel.

Overnight at hotel.

 
Day 15 :-  

In Varanasi
Early morning you start your day with the Boat ride in Holy river Ganges.
Rise before dawn & step gingerly in the boat as the boatman starts rowing the boat. Witness the daily miracle to unfold, as the Sun appears triumphantly over the horizon. The sound of conches & temple bells add to the delicate pink fabric of dawn. The formerly hushed murmuring of ancient Sanskrit Shlokas (hymns) now rise, in one voice, to a crescendo of unparalleled piety & joy. Later we explore the city by foot to get the feel of this Oldest living city of the world.
Return back to the hotel for the breakfast. Enjoy your buffet breakfast at the hotel and afterwards you start the half day excursion to Sarnath

Sarnath : The site of the deer park where Gautama Buddha is said to have given his first sermon about the basic principles of Buddhism. It has been a premier centre for Buddhism & has a rich collection of ancient Buddhist relics & antiques comprising numerous Buddha & Bodhisattva images on display at the Archaeological Museum.

After completing the sightseeing of Sarnath, you return back to the hotel.

Overnight will be in Varanasi.

 
Day 16 :-  

Varanasi - Delhi (Flight)
After breakfast free till departure. Departure transfer to airport to connect the flight for Delhi. On arrival at Delhi Domestic airport after being received you are taken to the Hotel.

Evening free at leisure.

Overnight at hotel.

 
Day 17 :-  

Delhi - Overseas (Flight)
Breakfast at hotel. Free till departure. ( Hotel Check out time 1200 Hrs)

Later in the evening you are met by our representative and afterwards transferred to the International airport to connect the flight back home.
